Morgan starred as a woman in AIDS prevention and education video Safe Sex for Men and Women. Part of the money went to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is a part-time member on the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan has spearheaded numerous other fundraising initiatives for the cause as well as testified in front of a specific Congressional committee about AIDS education. She sits on the Board of Governors of APLA. C. Everett Koop asked her at times to take his place at AIDS activities. She also hosted an AIDS Awareness Special together with anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell has interviewed her two times about AIDS in Nightline. Morgan was nominated to win an Emmy for her performance in the Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. In the spring, she appeared alongside Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. Summer began by presenting Murder At The PTA Luncheon that was created by Von Zeerneck and Sertner. Marla Gibbs and Cindy Williams were also on the show. Then she starred in the production of Harmony Gold, Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady, which starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan has also been featured in a psychological thriller produced for USA Network. The film received one of the greatest ratings of all time.
